About Laura Bonnie

Laura Bonnie is a painter and illustrator currently residing in Victoria, BC. Frequent subjects include animals, the fantastical, story scenes, and all manners of dream imagery. She holds a BFA in Illustration from Emily Carr University of Art & Design, and enjoys the many strange peculiarities of the creative process. Frequent media include acrylics, oils, collage, mixed media and digital.
Inspiration for her current series involves enchanting imagery harvested from candid and everyday snapshots, and an ongoing fascination with insect life, transformation, and the subconscious.
Influences include Gustav Klimt and Egon Shiele, as well as Nick Bantock, Shaun Tan, and James Jean. Passions include keyboard cat, reptilians, and kitschy home decor.
Laura Bonnie is currently accepting fine art and portrait commissions.

About Classes at North Park Art Studio

North Park Art Studio was founded by Laura Bonnie in the fall of 2018. Her  experience teaching and leading workshops in various settings to wide range of ages has informed her constructive and flexible teaching style. She believes in an emphasis on technical skill as a means to creating expressive and meaningful work, and finds that small class sizes allow for meaningful and specific instruction tailored towards individual students. The studio functions as a professional working space for the production of Laura Bonnie’s illustration, paintings and fine art work, as well as a warm and inclusive atmosphere for art instruction.
